Tomorrow I have my 12 weeks scan so will be doing a post on facebook letting everyone know once we have told the important members of the family and close friends, does anyone know how is best to announce a rainbow baby?

Congratulations! Just announce you are expecting as normal, maybe use a rainbow emoji at the end

Please just say your having a baby. The term rainbow is not always understood and often makes people uncomfortable. Just announce your pregnancy.

And congrats

Well I think it depends. If it's a rainbow baby after stillbirth then you'd obviously include their siblings name in 'We are all delighted to announce'

If it's after a MC I wouldn't mention it.

But do whatever your comfortable with. Congrats on the pregnancy Smile

You don't have to announce it at all but if you'd like to just keep it simple.
As the poster above suggested " we're having a baby " is pretty good.

What's a rainbow baby?

Why do you have to announce any baby on facebook? Does everyone know you have had such a loss?

Your new baby is an individual in his or her own right. Let the new baby be just that.

I am sorry for your loss. Flowers

We didn't announce till after our rainbow was here but when we did we included, 'After the storm comes the rainbow' and a dedication to our first daughter.

Congratulation on your pregnancy. Thanks

I had a miscarriage before my dd and when I was pregnant - someone said oh it's a rainbow baby! It was my 8th mc btw and I'd never heard this rubbish before.

I was like - what's that? I had no idea what they were on about. she explained it and I think the same now as I did then that it's the most ridiculous phrase I've ever heard!

I said no, my baby is not going to be multi-coloured with stripes I'm pregnant and that soon shut her up.

Just post a picture of the scan and 'under development'.

Congratulations BTW!
