Harvey - 6lb 8oz!

Made a shockingly quick appearance today while I was at work (did literally just make it to hosp) 3 hour 15min labour with no real pain till he was arriving! Was let home straight away, grabbed a Chinese (yummy) and have just tucked sleepy head into bed :)

If anyone's got any breastfeeding tips please shareeeee!!!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY :)

Congratulations Smile

If you are after bfing tips, stick these numbers in your phone and ring them when you've got a query, don't let things go too far.

Go along to your local bfing support groups, have a cuppa and a chat and meet some local bfing mums. And read these and this. Oh and get some sleep while you can Smile

WOW! Congratulations!

Get rested lady as BF will take it out of you for the next couple of weeks.

The bast advice I had (after getting latch sorted) was if in doubt, when they are crying put them on the boob...if they want it they will have it, and if not they wont.

Enjoy you gorgeous new baba!

Congratulations!

My tip would be Lansinoh cream. Lots of it! And read up on hand expression for when your milk comes in, I had to do this as my boobs were so engorged.

The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is a really good book that I wish I had bought from the start.

Enjoy your baby Smile

Great book and great tip on hand expressing but I'd think about the cream but not rush out to buy anything yet. I've fed both of my DC and never even used the free sample.

I second reading 'The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding'.

Some hydrogel pads? Very soothing on sore nipples (store in the freezer).

Lots of water to drink and snacks to eat.

Congratulations!!!

Video on hand expressing here but again, you may not need it. Lots of women never express and still bf. I was particularly crap at expressing, hardly ever got a drop but both the babies grew.

Congratulations! Amazing labour story. Second the Lansinoh tip before each feed and the best piece of advice given to me - any time your baby cries for the first few weeks, stick your boob in its mouth!

Congratulations!! Smile

BFing Tip Nr1 (and only): stay whereever you are comfortable and everytime bubs opens his beak you offer boob. Every time! If he wants it, he'll take it; and your milk supply will thank you.

Enjoy your newborn cuddles x.

JiltedJohnsJulie you're right not everyone needs it. I used it a lot at first but actually thinking about it I found that expressing a bit of milk onto the cracks on my nipples and letting the milk dry worked better.

The Lansinoh was very good though for mixing with my hand cream as my hands were like sandpaper from constant washing! Still are with 16wo DD! Grin

Congratulations, no tips, I had one DD who hadn't a clue how to BF and one who hadn't a clue how to give up.

It is a really great product for those with sore or cracked nipples, but not everyone gets those either Smile
