Bereavement

Bo's death. An update

Well, we finally got a letter today from the hospital responding to our questions in writing. I'd left it for a while before chasing them. I 'phoned the Patient's Liaison bod yesterday morning and seven hours later got a real 'Cheques in the post. Oh! you haven't received it yet?' Response.

I won't go into long drawn-out details here. Those of you who may have followed the story know what happened. After the enquiry meeting I came away feeling like crap but also positive that a bleep-holding supernumerary MW would be reinstated to ensure that such a fatal fk up would not happen again. The letter we got today said that the hospital is 'reviewing reinstating a bleep-holder' Not the same thing and I'm sure they're hoping they never hear from us again. Call me cynical but I believe they have no intention of reinstating this vital role, costs a bit and heck! Let's use the money for yet another meaningless layer of middle-management

I've discussed it with Mr Bubble and I'm contacting Susan Kramer who is our local MP tomorrow to make a big, stinky noise about this.

Tears again today, I expected it but it still feels like a knifewound.

(((((bubble)))))

Would it help if those of us in neighbouring constituencies who also use Kingston hospital were to write to our MPs and express our concern as well?

oh I'm so sorry b99...

Perhaps it's time to publicly expose this total shambles for what it is?
Hopefully your MP will get the ball rolling, but otherwise now maybe the time for the press to be involved?

Bubble, I am outraged for you
I hope that you will get somewhere with your local MP. I know that you won't let them get away with fobbing you off.

I'm not surprised you had a teary day, this is very tough for you. Especially since that was really the only good thing they had to say to you that day of the meeting.

I think about your little Bo so much, it is just so unfair.

Much love XxX

Good luck with your mp bubble - have you tried your local Community Health Council - they are sometimes pretty good at championing patients complaints?

Admire your strength in this xxx
Hope your mp will help. Just so shocked that the hospital would say they were reviewing the situation when it is clear what needs to be done.

Oh bubble, you are my hero. If I should ever (God forbid) experience something so horrible as this terrible tradgedy I only hope I might have half your strength.

Go get 'em!

And if you want to solicit more MNers to help, I think you should post a thread and not CAT. You mught get more takers than you think.

Oh bubble - that is really a blow. I admire you for carrying on with this despite your pain. Hope your MP can help. The Trust will certainly respond to her. So sad they could not put measures in place to ensure that staff are supported in order to support parents relying on care.

Oh Bubble those bloody people.

Best of luck with Susan Kramer, Lib Dems are often very good local campaigning MPs. Can't help feeling sorry you don't have Jenny Tonge any more. She knows what it is to lose a child

If there is anything we can do, please post here.
