hi group, My husband was murdered in aug 2007 and we had been split up for about ten months before this happened .....so much had gone on between us and things were difficult. we had three children together so times have been hard. i have moved on and am very happy in a relationship in which we live together. today i was looking through friends reunited and just out curiosity typed his name in ...i couldnt believe it when i saw his face....it was time a time when we were together and although he did not write much said he was happy....well im just crying now....i miss him

Sarah I don't know what on earth to say to you sad. You've got every right to feel sad.

Hi Sarah

You are not being unreasonable, your husband shared your past, you must have been happy and loved him before it started to fall apart. There is nothing wrong with being sad and remembering your past together. Sounds quite normal to me.

thanks guys...it was just the shock.... my last memory of him was seeing him wired up in hospital , brain dead with machines keeping him alive.....i mourn for so many different reasons....i guess it was seeing him in our kitchen that did it and plus a photo i had never seen before...im calming down now.

OMG - Poor you, even though you had split, you have happy memories, its OK to hold on to that. Even if he were still around you know, you would still have those memories, if that makes any sense at all. Must be terrible for your children. I am glad you are rebuilding your lives, but it IS ok to feel sad, would be a bit shit if you didnt tbh.

God what an awful thing to have to go through. It is natural to mourn him, but you are brave to have been able to rebuild your life and make a future for your children.

I am very sorry for your loss.

I have asked MNHQ to move this thread to the bereavement topic. Seems more appropriate.
