aww, that is very lovely - I think it's important to have crying at a funeral - very cathartic - we had lots of emotional readings at FILs the other week and we all bawled but felt so much better after letting it out !
I have heard that poem on the radio with music playing behind the reader. Have a feeling that it is the lady who played the leading role in Born Free in the 70's - but dont quote me on that!!It is beautiful.
That is from a film, I can't remember what it's called - about a woman who worked for the secret service I think. Violet something? It's lovely. I wish my deputy head had not read it out at assembly so often as it kind of spoilt it. Teenagers giggling throughout
Violet Szabo ?
Yes that was her - Virginia McKenna played her.Still can't remember her name
Yes Maryann that was her.
violette szabo used that as her 'thing' to hold on to if she was captured and tortued-which she was.
