I am on maternity leave and have just heard that a colleague at work baby has died just after she gave birth. I don't know her that well but I wanted to send her a card and something else - but can't think what. I thought maybe some nice bath oils or something or do you think a card is enough?

A card is more than enough. Just to know that people care is a comfort.

Your poor friend and her baby sad

Do send a card, it will bring some comfort and will be read many times.

Card is ample - just to let her know you are thinking of her.

What sad news.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Card sounds like a very good idea.

You are very thoughtful - a card would be lovely - this is what was written in one of the cards I received when I lost my baby:

Words are useless.
I hope you and your family receive all the love, care and support you need.
It is so so sad that baby crochet won't be with you in this world.
All of you take your time to grieve, Shut out the world until you are ready to begin to join in again.
With love and sympathy to you.

No pressies needed - and don't send a "With Sympathy" card - just one with a nice piccie on the front.

I'm going to send a card as well.
Does anyone have any nice words or thoughts that gave them comfort please?
