Tomorrow will be so incredibly hard, and I am sure you will be overwhelmed by people and feelings. Hope you get the chance to say goodbye and let your lovely dh fly free.
Hope there is someone taking care of you.

Hope you find the funeral cathartic in some small measure, if possible. And if you end up in a big soggy mess on the floor (as I did at my mother's), remember that you're quite entitled. xx

How sad. Good luck tomorrow. It hardly seems any time since we buried my mother and we just had my father's funeral. And you want to grieve but instead your having to talk to undertakers, have discussions about grave digging, death notices and all kinds of pragmatic things that seem to get in the way of just getting on with trying to deal with a death but it must be much much worse to lose a spouse and at a relatively young age.

The things that really helped with my father's was we all co-wrote a funeral eulogy and I was very pleased we did that and left a copy on each seat for everyone and it included photos of my father and all 9 grandchildren so every one had that knowledge about his life and work to take away. I liked our involvement in the service - I sang from Faure's Requiem, my son played the last post on his trumpet etc. I loved the hymns we chose. But everyone is different in what they need and want. Nothing stops it being so very sad.

(practical tip - hardly anyone ate any of the food, get 50% less than you think you need)

Will be thinking of you all tomorrow, MB. I hope the service brings you comfort and you can be lifted by the love of everyone who attends.
