Bereavement

Please can you suggest a lovely place where we can scatter our stillborn dd's ashes?

Dd2 was sb in 2006 and her ashes are still in the care of the funeral director, as my in laws live in Canada and they were unable to attend the funeral and we wanted to do something in dd2's memory on their next visit.

With the happy recent arrival of dd3, the in laws are now due to come over this Summer, so dh & I really ought to decide exactly what to do. We've been thinking of scattering the ashes in a woodland environment that we can occasionally visit in coming years for family picnics and generally to have a lovely time whilst remembering our beautiful dd.

Ideally we're looking for somewhere an hour or so south of Manchester but I'd be grateful for any suggestions really. Thank you so much .

There is a lovely place that Sands have sponsered in the National Forest in Staffordshire (Alrewas) It's the National Arberetum (sp?) Very beautiful and peaceful.

You can also dedicate a tree with the woodland trust. I don't think its a named tree, but it will be in a specific wood.

Monsal Edge in Derbyshire. A huge cliff overlooking a beautiful valley in the Peak District.

We are going to scatter my mums ashes there in the summer
