Sorry to hear that, it's 5 years since I lost mine, he was buried on this date.

It's my mum's birthday today. she died 3 years ago too. I've been feeling uncharacteristically (thanks to the prozac) down today and maybe you've helped me realise why. i could just cry and cry.

I hope you have lots of support today

it coming up to the 2yr anniversary of my dads death in May and i'm dreading it more this year than last

Maybe you could do something you know he enjoyed at the weekend - my dad loved going walking in the woods or on the beach so i'm going to do that on his anniversary this year to make it happier iykwim

Having a little cry

He was only 65,a great big tall man, with a huge booming laugh, doting grandad, my Big Daddy, married to my Mum, childhood sweethearts for 44 years.

He died on my older sister's 40th birthday. My brother was only 25 , my other sister was 35.

He had Boerhaaven's syndrome, he had norovirus, and ruptured his oesophagus. MRSA got him 4 months after surgery, he never came home.

Its lovely that he got to meet his grandchildren though

Its hard when it happens on days like birthdays, anniversarys, near christmas as you never quite enjoy it the same aagin My dad died 9 days after DS3 was born so DS3's birthday is a mixture of emotions for me, but at least he got to meet him

tell us more about how lovely he was?

Aw bless you all

Well

He was very silly, and kind and clever.

Great big hands, all rough from gardening and DIY. Famous locally for his electrician skills, he was very popular.

He was in the RAF, I was born in Singapore, he was away a lot when we were children.

They lived at Peterboro when newlywed

He was an electrician on Hercules, he loved those planes with a passion. We always went to Fairford for his birthday (July).

He loved the Brandenburg Concertos, and his favourite music ever was The Corsair by Berlioz. Performed by brass band not orchestra.

Aw

Thanks for listening, it's so nice to ramble.

We were together on the weekend, apart from my older sister, she still struggles with the fact that for her, it's never going to be a happy birthday.

Its the three year anni of my dp tomorrow. its really nice to be able to talk about our dear departed. On mn its so anonymous that you can spill things out , i think i have stored up all the emotions, cant really cry in front of the kids, have to be strong. I hope all the people we are missing are having a party up there looking down on us and smiling at how far we have come in our lives since their departure. Keep smiling and remember all of the times. talking is good i am sure lots of people want to shut you up because of how it makes them feel, take no notice of them.

I feel relieved to have been able to remember him tonight.
