I leave for work really early around 3 am every morning been doing it for the last two years and I have seen nothing or I haven't even felt like I did this morning . I did believe in spirits before my nan died two years ago but since she's been gone and me not feeling it seeing her I changed my mind . Until today . Half way driving to work . There's a nasty road very dark bendy . Nothing there . Now a about ten years ago 3 teenage boys died there . There's still a few things there for remembrance . I look at them every time I pass because they stand out . So I look them then my head and continue driving and I see something on the road but to my left side . I slow down a bit get closer and it's a figure . I slammed my breaks on and went straight through it . Instantly as I did I started to feel sad and even cried !!!! It has really shook me up. Has anyone else experienced this before ? Thankyou

I didn't
Not sure I still do
But I had a baby New Year's Day and my mother died a week later
A week after that I'm listening to the baby chatter away to himself in the crib hoping he doesn't start crying. Dh is fast asleep beside me and then clear as day I hear someone say the babies name, or rather a shortening nickname of his name from over by the crib. He went silent for 10 mins
I've never had anything remotely spooky happen to me before and I was deffo fully awake

No.
It's the basis of most religions and the basic human desire for some balance to the general shiteness/unfairness of life and satisfies the question: Is this all there is?

The answer is: All of this is what there is. We are here.

I can't claim that it makes me happy to think this, but then I think the pursuit of happiness is the occupation of a fool.

I don't think so, but I want to.

My rational brain can't think of a reason why there would be an afterlife, but at the same time I'm not convinced that consciousness won't go on in some way. This may just be because I find it impossible to imagine being unconscious.

Who knows? If it helps you OP, why not believe in it? Whatever gets you through the night, I say.

Yes, I do. 100%.

It doesn’t matter if others don’t believe in it, or if they laugh at those who do believe. I think it’s quite naive to think this is it. I work in a hospital and without a doubt I think there’s more to it than this life. I can’t explain it.

I know there's an afterlife and, judging from comments on any threads that are remotely woo, there'll be a lot of folk who are surprised to find they're more alive after death than they are now. Smile

I don't but nonetheless I find the idea of Death rolling up in a limo to collect his charges, and them being driven off (free of pain) into the afterlife to assist Freddy Mercury with his expired cats retirement home comforting.

What did irritate me was a funeral for a young mother where the vicar blathered on about not knowing why these terrible things happened. I thought a firm party line on the topic of her now sunning herself on the beaches of heaven would have been in order at that point if at any time!
