Does anyone know a hymn with a title something like..."there is another lovely place". She says it's about moving on but may/may not mention heaven. Thanks in advance.

There is a land of pure delight.
Where saints immortal reign.

Is it likely to be a modern or traditional hymn?

Thanks, it could be that. I will try to find a recording and play it to her. I don't go to church with her so unsure if modern or older. Thanks.

What tradition does she come from? (Ie church of england/Scotland/catholic/Methodist etc as sometimes that helps narrow down)

Is it this?
There is a happy land, far, far away
Where saints in glory stand, bright, bright as day;
Oh, how they sweetly sing, worthy is our Savior King
Loud let His praises ring, praise, praise for aye

Apparently it was written by a Scottish school teacher

I don’t know the hymn but I wanted to send you some Flowers. You sound a lovely daughter trying to find the hymn for your Mum. Hopefully she will gain some peace when she hears it.

Or this? By Liam Lawton

There's a time for remembering, a time to recall
The trials and the triumphs, the fears and the falls.
There's a time to be grateful for the moments so blest:
The jewels of our memory where love is our guest.
There is gold that is gleaming in a past we once knew:
In our tears and our laughter, 'twas love brought us through.
There's a road we have travelled where sunlight has kissed,
That carries us onwards when loved ones are missed.

Thanks everyone. I will do some research around your suggestions and also maybe try to contact someone who attended the same church. I'll let you know. x

It is quite an old one, my Mum had it at her funeral. It’s by Issac Watts.

Hope you find it, the only similar one I could find in CoS hymnary was for the kids at dunblane.

Could it be this one? Andew Young was a Scottish schoolteacher.

So sorry that I did not return to close this thread and thank everyone for their suggestions. I never did discover the hymn mum was referring to but we had a lovely service nonetheless. She died peacefully last October. At the end she was on a lot of medication and quite confused so I’m not sure if the hymn really ever existed or it was just in her mind. Thanks again and my thoughts are with anyone dealing with bereavement at this time. X
