Pain after ERPC

Hi - I had a missed miscarriage last week and had a ERPC on Thursday - managed to make it through my DS's birthday party on Sunday (with 6 pregnant women there!) but am still in lots of pain and can't get through without taking painkillers all day. Is this normal? I thought I would be OK by now. Only bleeding slightly now....

I didn't have any physical pain at all after my ERPC iirc, and I don't think that you're supposed to. I would probably contact the hospital gynae ward and just ask them what they think.

I ahd cramping pains like period pain but nothing too unbearable. I'd check with the hospital or your GP.

I have hadan erpc and aprt from period type aches I wasn't in any real pain at all - did't even need any painkillers on the day.

I'd call the hospital too - goodadvice from can'tsleepwon'tsleep.

I also had a missed miscarriage and had an erpc just over 2 weeks ago i woke up in a lot of pain but that only lasted for about 4 hours. Im pretty sure its just the last bits coming away i suppose they cant get everything.
Anyway i wasnt in pain for a day or so then had to get on the painkillers again because the pain started again.
I only had pain for a day though before it eased off and so did the bleeding which after a week and a half stopped and physically im back to normal.
If you are concerned i would phone in to the hospital, dont forget thats what they are there for even if nothing is wrong you can put your mind at rest.

I had quite a bit of pain after mine - felt very tender and was taking paracetamol for a few days but might be worth your phoning the ward or NHSDirect for advice.

sorry to hear about your miscarriage

i had a missed mmc in december, lots of pain and bleeding still 2 weeks later, turned out i had an infection and needed antibiotics, after more weeks of pain and more antibiotics,it turned out that the baby was still inside of me.

i don't mean to worry/upset you but you must get this checked out just incase.you''ll find lots of old threads on this also.

sorry for your loss

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. Did phone the hospital and they said to wait a couple more days - as I was already taking antibiotics unlikely to be an infection, but they would scan if still in pain. Looks like its all cleared up now though - no pain and the bleeding has stopped too. Bit surprised how you just get sent home without being told anything - I didn't even see a doctor - the nurse just said it was ok for me to go.
