Bereavement

My Beautiful girl

Hi everyone,I haven't been around for a bit but I just want to share this & hopefully prevent other family's suffering as we are.

On the morning of 1st September this year,I found my beautiful 22 year old daughter who was home from uni,on the floor in her bedroom.
She was already beyond help.
It's been horrendous,no answers or support from anywhere for many weeks.
We were only able to finally lay her to rest on Friday
2 weeks ago we found out she died from Sudden Arrythmogenic Death Syndrome.

Every week 12 Children or young Adults die from SADS.
That's 120 more sudden, preventable deaths of young people since my beautiful daughter Ashlee left us.

CRY (cardiac risk in the young ) hold screening clinics for all 14-35 year olds.
The NHS WONT test our children unless one has already died from the condition.

Too little, too late for us,but maybe not other family's.

I am so sorry. I hope you are able to access support for yourself for what will have been a deeply traumatic experience Flowers.

I have a 20 year old Uni student daughter. I cannot imagine what you've been through.

I will keep an eye out for screening in my area.

Much love xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. A school friend of mine lost her husband to this, was shocking and terrible and she is terrified her three children may have inherited the condition. They are regularly checked through NHS screening but it’s good to know there’s a service for those without a possible genetic link.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for you for choosing to do something positive (spread awareness) at this horrendous time.

Memories last forever OP, your beautiful girl will always be with you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter.

I had heard of CRY and DS is booked into a screening that they are doing at his school early next year.

You can ask to be put on their email list and they will let you know when there is a screening in your area.

Thank you for your condolences,we are still in shock & utterly heartbroken.
Our son is seeing the paediatric cardiologist tomorrow morning,we have appointments Wednesday.

All I want to do is talk about her but it's so hard right now.
She was so beautiful inside & out, insecure but starting to blossom & believe in herself.
She was my best friend xx
