Bereavement

I want proof of my baby.

I miscarried at 13 weeks 3 days and had a d&c two days ago.
I have 4 scan photos of my precious baby but I'm really struggling to understand why I don't get any other proof as if my baby never happened.
I've searched high and low online to see if I could get. Birth/death certificate made but all are from US.
Does anyone have any advice?
It's breaking my heart and I want my baby to atleast seem official in my eyes.
Thanks.

Talk to the bereavement midwife at the hospital. They may be able to give a unofficial certificate.

I think a death certificate is only given for children more than 23 weeks. I think it's ridiculous. If your pregnant then you are a mother and that is your child from day one.
Sorry for your loss Flowers

Maybe get a little silver cup engraved with the babies name and date of birth? Or plant a white rose?

Hi Tanyelx when I worked in early pregnancy we used to acknowledge a pregnancy loss with an acknowledgement of birth certificate, like others have said up thread at this stage of pregnancy they do not issue birth or death certificates. I'm am sorry for your loss, miscarriage is an awful thing to go through, have you tried speaking to your midwife and asking if they offer any acknowledgement? Otherwise I found the miscarriage association had some good for ideas to mark the loss of your baby.

Hi @Tanyelx
I just found your post now. Get in touch with SIMBA, they are a Scottish charity that do a small memory box for pregnancies up to 14 weeks and as far as I know they will send one to you if you request it.
We were given their memory box when we had our stillborn baby girl in September and it is really a comfort to have it.
