i have been for a scan yesterday an i thought iwas 7 weeks the doc sed 6 but when i had my internal scan they said they could see the sac but couldnt see the embryo, i have too go back in 2 weeks seems ages away, i am not bleeding an not in pain,but i have been on the m/c site an it looks bleak, i am hopin it is hiding i am obviously upset , but when my friend phoned last nite i told her what the scan said she told me not too worry as that happened to another friend an when she went back 2 weeks later they found the embryo fingers crossed i just keep thinking the worst thinkin that i am not pg anyone been in this situation

Fingers crossed for you Jolly. I think an embryo should be seen at 6 - 7 weeks but if your dates are off then perhaps it i too early. Have you tried putting the words "early ultrasound" into Google and seeing what comes up?

Hi Jolly - I went for a scan at what I thought was 7 but turned out to be 5.5 weeks - they just saw a sac, not fetal pole and heartbeat (on abdominal not internal). They did blood tests, said to come back in 10 days for another scan - either dates were off or I had m/c. But the bloods were dodgy so I went for an internal scan 4 days later, which found sac, fetal pole and heartbeat, and I now have 3 month ds. Best of look

thanks everyone for your feedback and too mummyofseven fingers crossed that the reason is my dates i just cant get this out of my head you cant help thinkin the worst we do have a little boy who is 7 an cause we wanted another child so much we concieved within 4 months an were still quite shocked so would be devasted too have lost this one roll on 7th july

Hi there. It's all a bit of a shocker, isn't it. IIRC, you wouldn't expect to see the fetal pole until about 6 weeks on any scan (an internal scan shows up to a week more than an abdo scan), and would not necessarily see a heartbeat on an internal scan until 7/8 weeks - if you are just ten days out with your dates, that could mean everything was fine; even if your cycles are 28 days, you could still have ov'd late. Best of luck.

I have no advice but it must be really hard having to wait for a long time for another scan. Fingers crossed and hugs.

I know before I m/c I was always wanting to know if everything was alright. And the waiting game really blows.

I had this with my dd - I was referred to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at our hospital when I thought I was about 7 weeks pg because I had been having pains in my lower stomach (my 1st pregnancy ended in emergency c-section). They only found an empty sack and then I had the waiting for the hcg levels in my blood to rise suitably - as they did - and everything was fine. In the end they put my dates back by a few weeks and even then she was overdue so shows how much I know about my cycle!
The waiting is horrible though - good luck to you.

my scan is on 7th of july i had a c- section too i am a bit more settled now thou bout the pg but you do still worry i think til i can see something growing good luck for you for your scan too xx
