Bereavement

The compassionate friends - a support group for parents and siblings

I was so very sorry to read the sad news about ggg's little dd. I don't know her but I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to ggg abd her dh and family, and to all parents who have lost a child.

I experienced the loss of a sibling when I was in my teens and I wish there had been something like the compassionate friends back then.

They have a website www.tcf.org.uk and they also have local meetings and support for parents and for siblings. There is a phone line for people who are not comfortable with computers.

I hope this will be of some help to someone.

TCF has been a massive support to amyjade, everyone there knows how she feels, she has made some great friends through it too.

Although i am not a bereaved parent myself, i am a doting aunty and have used the poetry and prose section quite often.

A fantastic lifeline.

Bumping this in response to the request for a support network. TCF also have a large library of books and leaflets/information sheets. They produce and sell tasteful and appropriate greetings cards too. Really useful when you don't want to send the conventional christmas card to a bereaved family, but want to let them know you are thinking of them. They do a fantastic job, with no government grants or anything.
