As it happens i know that the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust advised them on the plotting and so far it has been true to life, with shoulder pain, rushed to hospital, abdominal bleeding and an emergency op.
However... I also understand through my work that Violet will be told in upcoming episodes that she is infertile, thanks to scarring and the ectopic. From what i've been told this wasn't exactly what the EPT advised in terms of plotting.
I really just wanted to say to all of you who have recently had an ectopic that you shouldn't panic. Clearly the scriptwriters had a job to do, and they've chosen the most dramatic option.
Mine happened two years ago and i've been lucky enough to have DD since then, but i found it tough going watching Corrie tonight. My heart goes out to everyone more recently touched my EP or whose quest to become parents has yet to be resolved. Take heart, and remember that the overwhelming majority of people go on to have babies after their loss.
