Can I ask a question about birthdays?

I think that sounds very thoughtful. I suspect some people might avoid them at this point in their lives because they don't know what to say. Acknowledging their daughters life and what would have been a momentous day is acknowledging who she was and what tgey have lost. It shows she isn't forgotten by you.

It would be lovely. Everyone is there at the start and it is later on that you really appeeciate contact.

A card would be nice. Don't worry about upsetting them - they will already be upset.

I was very touched by people who sent cards or flowers on ds1's birthday this year - it meant he hadn't been forgotten.
