Bereavement

It was my baby's funeral this morning.

I had Mmc in August and the funeral was today.
It was so sad seeing the tiny coffin and knowing that my baby I'd never get to know was inside.
The service and prayers were lovely and I'm glad I was there with DH and my DM.
I'd like to start moving on, but know I still have to wait for the post-mortum results and just feel I can't put things to rest until then.
Just wanted some unmumsnetty hugs really.

Have a massive hug, don't care if it's an unmumsnetty one or not. I've been there and buried my DS who died at 22 weeks gestation and it is horrible and heart breaking watching a small coffin with your child inside it. I hope you get answers from the PM soon.

Sending much love. I hope that there was some peace for you today. It's not a day that you forget. I will always have a strong memory of my DH carrying DD1's coffin into the service almost six years ago now. Thinking of you and your lovely baby over the coming days. Flowers. Happy to chat if you ever want to at any point.

I am so sorry you lost your darling baby. Sadly I know that pain of seeing that tiny coffin. My DH carried our baby into his funeral too, like purplepandas I will never forget how I felt at that moment.

Now, ten years later, I take great comfort in my memory of the funeral we gave him. I feel we did our best for him.
