How is it possible what it is already eight years since my Grandmother died? I just can't get my head round the fact that so much time has already passed by.

Since then I have had a baby, my son has changed school twice, my other children once, we have lost a cat, 2 fish and 2 snails gained 2 guinea pigs and 2 cats and life has just carried on as ever before.

Seems so .

I think I know what you mean...

I suppose this is what people mean when they say, "Life goes on". At the time of someone's death they are so present in our thoughts - it's so intense, then before you know it you've had a baby, change of schools, pets have come and gone.

My brother's wife became pregnant with their first baby a few months after our mum died and when they told me my very first thought was of sadness at mum not getting to see her son's children.

My mum often used to comment that "a lot can happen in five years". So true.

I know what you mean, its been 40 years since my lovely Dad passed away, and even now I have moments of sadness that he never met his grand children, where does the time go ?

It's so sad thinking about the things a loved one has missed.
