Bereavement

Funeral for minkulus husband

Just wanted to let all the wonderful mumsnetters who have supported me recently know that we had my DH funeral yesterday.

Despite the obvious sadness we all felt it was a truly uplifting day. So many of DH colleagues came from all over the world. Old friends I had not seen since our wedding many years ago came and had circulated details to our uni friends etc. and some really dear friends of mine made a human chain of hands to touch me as I passed them in the church. It was truly humbling.

My DCs are doing ok. They are amazing children and the love i have for them has been magnified and intensified by all this heartache. I'm still quite numb from it all but have a deep sense of peace that he at last can rest. No more travelling, no more stress for him.

I just wanted to send my Love to you all and say many, many thanks for your support. I will always remember such kindness of strangers at a dark time. Xx

Mink I've just seen this. You have been in my thoughts.

I'm so glad you had an uplifting day and that all the effort you put in worked. And may you continue draw strength from those lovely DC of yours and your DH.

I'm so glad you have RL support and friends that are so thoughtful. What a lovely thing. Oh, I seem to have something in my eye.

If in the coming days, weeks, months or years you find yourself needing support, friendship or a listening ear I, and many other vipers, will be here for you.
