This will be the first Christmas since I lost my lovely Mum and I am dreading it. I love Christmas and usually go all out but this year I just dont want to do anything. I dont want to put any decorations up or even think about anything to do with Christmas. Usually I have done all of my shopping but I haven't done anthing if it wasn't for my daughter I really wouldn't be bothering this year.I'm crying all the time and just feel so sad. My Mum always made Christmas such a special time for us as a family and I cant imagine it without her. Any advice?

No real advice but I am sorry for your loss.
My FIL died 7 weeks before Christmas (10 years ago now) and I remember the first one being so hard but it does get better with time.

I think you have to do what you feel is right for you, how old is your DD will she notice if you have a played down Christmas this year?

I am very sorry for your loss. {{{{hugs}}}}

However try and be brave.The spirit of your Mum is inside you.Try and feel her love and support (which I am sure she gave you) Don't push her away she is part of you.

create your family Christmas.Take one step at a time.Do one thing then another.

You can do this,you have the strenghth,your mother gave you the skills.

Thinking of you x

She's 14 and adores Christmas particularly the family tradition s that we have.She is struggling with her Grandma's death but finds it really hard to talk about. I need to make Christmas as "normal" as possible for her.

You will find this group very supportive. They have helped me so many times I have lost count. Christmas is hard. Last year was the first since Mum and Dad were killed and it was hard to cope but this year will be a bit easier. I still have spells of "one day at a time".

Plymouth our church has a remembrance tree, you write the name of your loved one on a star and put it on the tree and the names are read out and prayed for/ Remembered on Christmas eve, if you would like me to add your mums name then please message me xx
