Thank you for starting this new thread Porto Smile Can't believe the other one hit 1000 posts. Just proves what an amazing, supportive group of people you are.

Well, two lovely ladies turned up at the house this morning and I think they are going to be an absolute Godsend. They got stuck in straight away, getting everything organised for Richard's return. They are even happy to share the guest room so my SIL gets her own bedroom too, rather than the sofabed!

It was very, very emotional leaving the hospice, taking the do not resuscitate order to put in the fridge, saying goodbye to all the wonderful, wonderful people there. DH is happy to be home, asking to see all of his children. He's a very ill, exhausted man though and the 5 mile journey took it out of him.

It's brilliant to have Richard at home, but very scary too. I had to ask what to do when he does pass away - I had not a clue, who to call, whatever. I have had a lot of tears today - I know none of us know our future but Richard's illness has really shoved that under my nose and makes everything seem so bloody fragile.

Still, the sun is shining, the sitting room looks lovely with its bunting welcome home banners and Richard is home Grin

So glad Richard is home again Rinders, it sounds like it has been a long and emotional day for you.

So glad that Richard came home though and you are all back together again and glad the carers sound lovely. I hope Richard is feeling more comfortable now he is back home.

I was thinking of you today, while the sun was shining and hoping that your husband was with you. The girls must be delighted to have him home, and I hope you can enjoy this poignant time together.

Hi Rinders

I am not surprised it was emotional. It is milestone.

But a lovely one that I am so glad you were able to take.

Please eat cake and laugh as much as you can. I know you will as you are such a wonderful sounding family.

We are all wishing you much happy time together.

Amazing that he is home Rinders. I feel very tearful for you thinking of what you are going through and what is to come. I can only imagine the bizarre mixture of emotions you must be feeling. Please don't forget that there are countless people on here who are all rooting for you, I hope it is some comfort to know that.

Sending you lots of love xxx
