ds3 (14 months) has been doing a bit of baby signing and picks new signs up quite quickly. after watching an episode or two of something special (on his own ) he has come up with the sign for apple and one other which i dont know!

so what does it mean when he flaps one arm like a chicken wing?

obviously this might not be completely accurate but he is getting very annoyed with me and help would be appreciated. tia

ask in SN- lots of people use Makaton - or ask in one of the MVDP forum- plenty of tutors in there.

I don't know when he started doing it? They did vehicles yesterday. train one was moving one arm by they side in a sort of circular motion. This could look quite chicken like

Could be biscuit - (my kids picked up that one very quickly - what a surprise) - it should be touching your hand to your opposite elbow (which dd does) but ds interprets it as flapping your elbow.

i suppose he could be doing chicken, but he seems to be doing it with a purpose. usually the purpose is to get food, i just wasnt sure what sort of food. biscuit is definitely possible, hadnt thought he might have adapted it the way he has. thanks bluebear, think you might be the winner!
