dd1 sent dh some postcards last week to the hospital. dd2 asked me to read them to her. she now has them memorized and can reel off what they say easily. her speech isnt too hot, but the words are there and the sentances in the right order. its very cute.

my DD1 is the same. a friend of ours called Jack gave her a teddy when she was 2 yrs old, and she named the teddy after him. hasn't played for it in ages but took it out yesterday and she remembered the name. i was amazed. DD1's language isn't too hot either (3.5yrs) its funny what she manages to come up with.

there memory for detail at that age is amazing and surprisingly long lasting.

ds1 had a very goood freind when he was 2 (from birth until 2). We moved away and have seen him once since (when he was 3). DS1 is now 6 and can't talk. but when he sees recent photos of him he knows who it is and says "mmm" (what he's always called him). If I tell him I'm talking to this boys mum on the phone he says "mmm" as well. Really funny thing is that "mmm" who is completely "normal" doesn't remember ds1 at all really. I don't think ds1 has ever forgotten anything (partof his problem imo). He loves looking at photos of our 2 old houses although we moved from the first one before he was 2.
