feffi...you should start brushing it now nightime or morning too (up to you), not so much to care for the tooth as to get your ds used to the feeling/experience.

a good brush to try is the finger brush from mothercare....it is like a rubber brush but it fits on your finger and just rub his tooth/gums with it.

i recommend the finger brush too.

My dentist said that if you are having difficulty getting child to let you use a toothbrush, you can use a thin face cloth on your finger, and just wipe the tooth.

Oh, and wipe the gums too - apparently, that is quite important. But getting them to eat stuff like apples and other rough fruit also helps to clean the teeth apparently.
