At what age should you start using a pillow ? My son is 15 months - I just think it must come to a point where it's not comfortable anymore to be lying so flat. Any ideas ?

I gave both of mine a pillow when they were about 18months.

pillows, duvets, quilts, etc can be used from 1 year if you want to. My dd had her pillow from 1 year as she had a cold and it helped to elevate her head and also gave me somewhere to put the hankie with karvol on it to help clear her nose!!

When they are old enough to ask for one.

Am sure DS had one at 1. First was a tiny one, but defo had a proper one by 18 months at the latest. Felt exactly the same as you - that it can't be comfy to sleep without one!! I always thought that by 12 months, they have the strength and the reflexes to push anything off their faces if it gets covered, and therefore pillows weren't a problem. Could be wrong on that though - no medical training!

Ds was 12mths as he went into a bed and it was winter. Sometimes he uses it and sometimes he moves his head off it.

My dd had a small, flattish one from the time she was about 12 months old, and then had an adult sized one when she moved to a bed at about 22 months.

DD had a flat pillow (from Mothercare) when she moved into a toddler bed, at 18 months. She has had a proper pillow since being about 2.5 years.

DS is 15mo and wouldn't keep his head on a pillow - he wriggles about so much. He lies on his front, so don't want to tilt his head up as I know from experience it makes your back hurt!
