I've got one who could do that as well (and over stairgates in a sleeping bag too). Can't help with a solution though as, having abandoned cots, stairgates and sleeping bags en route, we're still getting the visits 2 and a half years later. Fortunately(?) as ds knows he'll be put back where he came from if he wakes us up, he's now so good at doing it quietly that we usually don't notice until we wake up in the morning ourselves.

would he sleep in your bed? I'd let my child sleep with me if I thought it may be his teeth, although he may start to expect this and create a bigger prob?

Although saying that, my 2 both stay in their own bed now and have both been through various stages of co-sleeping.

I'd do anything for a good nights sleep though and during periods of illness or clingyness I do let them in to our bed. Good luck anyway
