Formula for fussy eater at 14 months?

My DS is still having 2 bottles of toddler formula a day - one first thing and one before bed and then a bottle of cow's milk before his afternoon nap. We offer him six oz for each bottle but he will often not drink more than 3oz of the formula. He does usually drink the whole bottle of cow's milk. I'd really like to stop the formula as it is expensive, not as easy to buy plus at the end of the day it's man-made whereas cow's milk is obviously natural which must have its benefits. However, i'm just worried that DS won't get all the iron he needs as his diet is rather limited - the only things he will eat with any kind of iron content are dried prunes, pancakes, occasionally an egg sandwich, raisins, dried apricots, cereal, bread, and peanut butter. He won't eat eggs in their normal form or any meat or fish etc. Plus anything he eats the quantity is usually fairly small. Do you think this is enough? Thanks in advance for your advice

yes as breads and cereals are usually fortified with iron and other things. ditch the formula and let him have normal milk.

I think vitamin drops are more effective than formula past 12 months - but really, try not to worry too much, toddlers are fussy eaters by nature, I'm sure they wouldn't be if their bodies couldn't cope with it if that makes sense!

I saw a Paediatrition and he said all children from 12 months should be having a multivitamin every day even if they eat a balanced diet.He alsp said not to bother with formula to get extra iron (my DD is slightly anaemic)as the amount is neglidgable plus you absorb better from food.
DD has red meat frequently,I add green leafy veg and spinich to her meals and she has diluted juice with meals to help absorb the iron.

If you drop the formula then start with vitamin drops. DS was like this and I ended up putting the drops in his milk.

drop the formula, sounds like the isnt that fond of it anyway. Ignore those bloody ads with the super size cup of milk "same as 20L of cowss milk" etc

All marketing and unnecessary. IMO should be banned from tv ads.

We should give children foods not fortified milks to give them vitamins.

Thanks for your replies everyone, sorry for late response - haven't logged on for a while. Have just got to the end of the last box of formula so will def move on to cow's milk now and give DS vitamin drops too. Thanks for your advice!
