I have managed to lose DDs favourite cuddly monkey! Bugger. Jellycat no longer make it and it was a bit of an unusual texture. She is now going off ok but waking v. early and will not be settled.
What I need from you lovely ladies is stories about recovery from lost toys and that this will pass! Ps DD is 13mnths.

Ah so sorry.

My dd is 2.7yr and is attached to mamas & papas patch dog. I bought in the sale when pregnant. She is VERY attached to it, we almost lost it so tried to find another, but it was also discontinued.
Managed to get one off ebay for a ridiculous price. The first was only about £7.

She carries 2 about with her. (we have recently got another, but we have put this one away)

ds is 13mth and ia attached to a teddy with a blankie from Asda.

I should have learnt first time round to give him a muslin square or something easily replacable.

DD will often be without hers in the day but not at night.

Also ds dropped his down the loo last night.hmm and was very difficult to settle for bed without it.
He has two other comforters that have the same texture fabric, but he knew it wasn't his favourite and kept pushing it away.

Sorry not a positive response for you.
Have you tried looking on ebay?

Is any of these?

Have you tried looking on Ebay for a replacement?
Do you have a picture of it? I don't think we have a jellycat one but DS2 has a pile of monkey teddies!

She will get over it. Possibly think of buying a new special cuddly toy (and buy a spare) as a special treat - and tell her honestly that the other one is lost. She'll be sad for a little bit but very likely get over it very quickly.

(and I wouldn't name this one Bugger, not appropriate for your little one wink )

I saw a lovely soft blue teddy in Sainsburies today. Went round asking all families with babies but couldn't find the owner. sad

Eh? I think I need that 'cat typing' software.

As I was saying...

Let her choose something herself (big fuss, lucky girl etc. etc.) but do buy the double secretly of she'll want to have both.

Thank you all sooo much for trying, I am afraid good old rhubarb (not buggergrin) may have been one of a kind. I have searched all over the internet, I can't even find an old catalogue to find out the old name.
Planning shopping trip tomorrow to let her rummage and choose one. And then I will defo by 2! Fingers crossed.
