late walker

my little girl bum shuffled at 12 months walked around furniture at 15 months for 4 weeks walked using the end of my finger she is now 20 months and walks unaided .she says approx 20 words .shes not potty trained as she suffers from constipation.she is just learning to use a spoon.she knows everything you say she knows all the animal noises she knows all her body parts when asked to point .i have 4 boys 3 in their 20s and one age 10 yrs i have also had a little girl who would be 5 this year and she died of edwards syndrome age 3 days . im worried my little girl has problems if she is delayed in walking

Please don't compare her with your other children or anyone elses for that matter. It will put her and you under unnecessary pressure to do it.

If you are worried about late walking (which I wouldn't be if she is now|) then please do speak to HV if you can't wait for her 2 year check up.

I wouldn't compare her. Our daughter did not walk unaided till 22 months. She is currently in physiotherapy. I would see your GP or HV and see what they say before drawing any conclusions.

Ds was like this - took him ages to walk! I think that it is because he could get around fine crawling and was too lazy to learn walking!

The potty thing - ds is 3 in August and wont hear of potties or toilets! It is one of those things that will happen.
I think with things like eating with a spoon - ds can do this but prefers me to feed him!

I wouldnt worry as she seems to know what to do and understand. She sounds about right to me mate - try not to worry.
In that book 'what to expect' it lists milestones and your dd is on target. x
