DS (5) has suddenly become self concious about his appearance. He's decided he wants his hair either very short (no way) or longer than it is now (currently shortish but quite shaggy) "like those skateboarding boys".
I don't know why this has come as a shock to me but is has. I think it's that he suddenly seems to have an idea of 'fashion' and an image of what he wants to look like! Previously his opinions on matters of style have been limited to 'I like these trousers, they're comfy'. Apart from his t-shirt with the shark on which he loves with a passion.
I expected this from DD (only 2 but with vehemently expressed views on all my clothes and hers) but not DS and not at 5.
When did your child become aware of what's 'in' and 'out'?
