DS 2, nursery also concerned over behaviour

Hi
DS started nursery 4 weeks ago and I was asked into the office Thurs. They were concerned over his 'erratic behaviour.'
He runs around all the time (I know that is form for 2 year olds but he literally never stops), his concentration is poor, he doesn't talk etc...
Senco observed him and in that short space he had poured water on floor, kept putting his dummy in sand, was trying to push the pet snails tank over.
He is too young for an IEP so is going to have the equivilant for his age. As he attends speech therapy they will keep the same targets. Oh the shame he is only just 2!
He is the same at home to be honest and ex was like it too. Ex still is and often in trouble with police, was expelled from schools etc.. I hope we aren't heading down same route.
Anyone experienced similar or have advice please. Feel such a rubbish mummy.

He won't be heading down the same route because presumably your ex didn't get help for this and you ds will be getting some.

It's brilliant that it's all been picked up so soon and not dismissed as "oh, well all two year olds run around."

But also remember that some of it may be normal 2 year old behaviour - it's just impossible at the moment to work out which bits.

Thank you. Have been worrying as ex showed a lot of ADHD traits and appartently ex was exactly the same in mannerisms as DS.
He does run around more and listen less than any other 2 year old I know/have known.
Guess I will have to wait and see.
In exes day you were just 'naughty' no help offered.
