trivial question about behavior

I fellover yesterday, really hurt myself, howling in pain.

Ds2 tried to pick me up by the head, was full of "Mummy, are you hurt-ed youself? Can oo get up?"

Ds1 continued to try to discuss the prices of scalextric in the argos catalogue, and I had to push it away to get him to shut up about it and get my phone (was stuck on floor)

he's six - how normal is this - how abnormal is this?

I would say it's pretty normal. Kids of that age can be incredibly self absorbed.
