When will a bruise go from newborn's forehead?

Are you sure it's a bruise and not a birthmark - google stork bite.

ds had a huge reddish bruise (think whole of the top of his head) .. (very difficult birth) it faded after 8 or so weeks (irrc it was a long time ago) Looking back at the photo's it really was horrible but in the haze of hormones I must have ignored the state of him !

Dd had what I thought was a bruise when she was born on her forehead. Turned out it was a stork mark and took about 3 years to go. She has just turned 5 and it is completely gone now.

my DS had a red mark slap bang between his eyes which faded over time but still goes bright red when he's angry (he's nearly 7 months now). He has a matching one at the nape of his neck too.

DD2 had a stork bite. Can't remember when it faded, but she hasn't got it now (9 years).
