wrecking dummies by biting them!

Hi

my 22month old only has his dummy for lunch nap and for bed. but he's basically breaking them on a daily basis by biting them!

i hadn't planned to drop the dummy until he was about 2.5years, mainly because i'm hoping his language skills will be better developed to understand the concept of 'giving it to the dummy fairies' or whatever trick i use.

he certainly wouldn't understand this yet so i really don't want to take dummy off him but it's too expensive to keep letting him bite them.

any suggestions or experience of this problem?

many thanks x

My nephew used to do this at around 18 months. My sister decided not to replace them and he got so fed up with having dummies with holes in that he gave them up.

You could try that
