My daughter is 3 and half and I have just taken her out of pull ups at night. We are doing really well, only 2 accidents in 10 days. I just wanted to know if anyone has any tips on how to make the bed change easier in the middle of the night. Is there anyway to make the bed up to make it easier?

She has a waterproof cover attatched to her mattress so it all soak in totally on her and her top sheet.

Get another waterproof sheet then make up the bed with 2 sheets with the new layer in between - that way you only need to strip off the top wet sheet and waterproof layer and you have a dry bed ready to go. A quick wipe of child with warm flannel and clean PJs all ready for bed again.

well I guess you cant stop her getting wet. or the sheets that cover her. But you could perhaps protect the sheet under her (I know theres a waterproof cover under that - but I still find changing the undersheet a clart about) Maybe if you use disposable bed mats over the undersheet? try the pampers ones first, and if that works (unless you know someone at the hospital that can pinch you some!) get cheaper ones at somewhere like this
DS doesnt wear pj bottoms (or a top actually cos its too hot at the mo) so that avoids the need to drag wet trousers off him.

Pampers bed mats are great as they have wings which can tuck under ok so they are not cheap but if DD does have an accident in the middle of the night you can just whip it off and put a fresh one on.

Also my dd is a big drinker and although I do try to control it at bedtime if I think that she has had more than usual I take her to the toilet just before I go to bed so that she doesn't have an accident.

thanks, do the pampers bed mats go on top of her sheet, ie does she see it or is under her sheet?

I second LionStar - fab idea which saw us safely thought potty training years (and the throwing up times too!)

Wow LionStar, what a great idea, I'm going to do that too - thanks for the tip.

The bed mats can do either, they are soft with a waterproof backing. However reading Lionstar's post I also think its a good idea.

Mine always get their duvet soaked as well (I have two bedwetters), so make sure you have a spare duvet with cover already on - speeds things up enormously at 2 in the morning.
