My nearly 18 month old is very lovely active DS for whom I think food is his last priority.
Roughly a good week involves milk and raisins, weetabix with homemade fruit compote, fruit snack, sandwich and yoghurt for lunch, fruit snack, rissotto or stew for tea with fruit or rice pudd for afters and then milk before bed.
A bad week is pretty hit and miss - will always eat breakfast but after that could be 1/2 kiwi for lunch and a mini cheese and a piece of toast for tea.
I see other toddlers gladly eating whatever is put in front of them but my DS seems to have some clear dislikes - mash potato and pasta and any sort of cream or cheesy sauce.I want us to all eat similar stuff as a family but I feel like we are nowhere near that at the mo.

breakfast - small bowl of porridge quarter of piece of toast

mid morning snack - bit of apple, bit of banana, oatcakes,

lunch - lamb burger about as big as a 50p few spoons of rice if i'm lucky, one floret of brocoli

snack - dried apricot, half a hot cross bun, piece of apple,

tea - one fish finger, couple of oven chips,

supper tiny bowl of cereals or bit of banana rice pudding

this is on a good day, plus he wants to breastfeed all the time, bfs about 3 times per day now that i am at work, and about ten times at night aaarrrrgggh! but really its comfort, don't think he gets much milk, and he's dairy intolerant.

won't eat anything mixed or mush anymore, like shepherds pie, doesn't try new things really, and often eats nothing in a day

no bun, just lamb squashed in to a burger shape. i'm glad you think he is a brilliant eater, its a real relief, he didn't eat any solids at all until 10 months, he's much skinnier and littler than other babies his age and been off the bottom of the weight chart since 12 months and i am now an obsessive about him eating, i'm back at work full time now and dh is looking after him, so i feel i'm losing control of it now

tryingtobemary - whats your DS up to eating wise ?
kalo - I agree your DS sounds like he eats well. My DH looks after DS 3 days a week and I have to stop myself grilling him about what DS has eaten when I come in from work !

On a good day:

breakfast - muesli

lunch - some cheese, falafels, pitta bread/ tortilla wrap/ breadsticks or malt loaf, raisins or one of thos Organix fruit sticks, fruit juice to drink

dinner:- omlette, broccolli or sweetcorn, or peas and carrots, saute potatoes, water to drink, yoghurt for pudding

On a bad day:
breakfast - muesli

lunch - some cheese and raisins (drink flung on floor)

dinner - yoghurt (drink poured all over table)

She will also sometimes eat fishfingers, rice, risotto, kedgeree, pasta with tomato sauce, toast.

She likes cereal bars and ice cream, but I try to limit those a bit (unless I am panicking that she has eaten nothing all day)

Well breakfast is fine, cereal, fruit pouch, yogart, licks the jam off the toast.

From here we go down hill......

Lunch: Licks hummous from a sandwich, sucks a fruit pouch, will eat bite and melt Organix snacks that's about it.

Mid afternoon may nibble on a few rasins

Tea, will gag at the sight of pasta, but will pick the grated cheese off the top, won't eat mash, won't pick up potato, won't touch rice, will eat beans though!!

His weight is low and the nutionist at the hospital doesn't know what to do with him. We are now waiting to have an oral assessment. In all other ways he is very bright, good babbler, starting to say a few words even a sentence in there, very social....................just won't eat or chew!

sazlocks, i still grill my dh rigidly, give him strict instructions, and then go in a mood if i don't think he's eaten enough, - and my dh is a professional chef!

kalo LOL - note to self to be more assertive !
My DS has been having some constipation issues that are not quite resolved yet and we are having the poo nurse here for a home visit in a couple of weeks. I have been asked to keep a food diary so my DH will have to note down in great detail what DS eats !!

i found out my ds was dairy intolerant at about seven months when i tried to get him to take a bottle, since then i have given him a teaspoon of flax seed oil every day to help heal the gut, it also helps with constipation but without just emptying the system, it actually allows all the nutrients to be properly absorbed from food. its available from good health food shops, i really reccommend it.

ttbmarypoppins - I sometimes give him a piece of avocado like a chunk of apple, he only accepts it intermittently, but sounds like your lo likes soft things, and of course avo is all good fats.

my ds had 8 teeth by ten months and i'm sure teething was a factor in not eating
