Are baby activity centres bad for their feet?

Not the walkers but the activity things that they sort of stand up in?

DD was born with positional talipes and we were advised against using the walkers as they would encourage her to walk on the ooutside of her foot.

Does the same go for these activity centres?

not a problem

they do not encourage propelling, and in fact support standing

as with all things child related, don't overdo this one, so, tummy time/supported sitting/insert here all have a place too

Thanks BoysAreLikeDogs, thats really useful. So its the propelling in the walkers that causes problems?

As far as I can make out, yes - the tippy-toe action when propelling uses all the wrong muscles and can even delay walking in some children

No evidence for this apart from heresay

Thats great, thanks BALD

I might give one a try then as dd is getting pretty bored on my knee/lying down under her activity gym.
