Any suggestions on how to get 18 month old DS to stop throwing everything (it's ok with balls but not plates and food when he's had enough or puzzle pieces when he has finished). ?

Erm, would the naughty step be any good for plates, food etc? 1 min for each year of their lives, with a huge explanation of why they're on there, works with my dd for throwing, although hasn't sorted the hitting yet....working on that one....

dd is 16 mnthsnad does this too. Its a normal part of toddlerhood and all I do is say NO food is not for throwing and assume that she has had enough and take the plate away. Its a phase all kids go through it. The trick is to make them understand that it is wrong but wihtout making too much of a thing out of it cos otherwise theyll know what to do to wind you up (How to actually do that mind is a whole different ballgame )
