'affectionate' biting in 18mth old

DS2 has recently started biting (mainly me and occasionally DH) but it is never with aggression, it's done in an affectionate way or when he is excited.

At the moment I am dealing with it with a firm "no biting" and removing him from me/getting up and then walking away but it doesn't seem to be having much effect although he is aware of what he is doing as he often says "oo bite".

DS1 never bite anyone so I?m not sure whether or not I am handling it correctly and how long I can expect the behaviour to go on for so hearing or anyone else?s experiences would be great.

Thanks

ds has been doing this for about 4 months now. He's nearly 2. He goes mainly for his sister, occasionally for me, always in a loving way.

I don't know the answer, I wish I did. dd is covered in bite marks, poor little thing. We talk a lot about how biting is unkind and makes people sad. I always make him apologise and we do lots of kissing and praising him for being affectionate in a good way. I'm just hoping it passes when he gets more articulate and better able to express his joy at being part of a game.
