wriggling 2.5 year old girl

Hi,

I have a 2.5 year old girl who has always wriggled in a car seat, high chair or, as now, her booster seat at the table. It has become excessive. Both hands are near her groin area and it seems to be giving her pleasure... . Being a nurse I am tempted to see a specialist but not sure if I am over reacting...
Has anyone else had this problem or may be able to offer me some advice. My husband and I are starting to feel a little embarrassed! I don't want to make it an issue as she is so young but need to know if it is 'normal'...
Many thanks

is she still in nappies? is it if she needs a wee maybe?

does she need to be in a booster seat/highchair at 2.5?

Hi,
No, she is toilet trained and have asked her if she does need the toilet. She has a booster seat now only for the dinner table as our table is still a little too high.

One of my friends had a daughter who used her hands in that way to comfort herself. It was embarassing for her Mum, but she did grow out of it, without much fuss.

Try to distract her without making too much of an isshoo. She will grow out of it for sure, little boys always seem to have a pull and a play around this age if they are "free"

I used to work with mild learning dis adults. The best way to stop the guys fiddling in the supermarket was to make them carry things. Distraction!
