Has anyone read this book or been on the 12 week course relating to it? I am going on it and hope it will help my husband and I learn how to help our son and his behaviour.

yep. used to assist teh running of the course.

My advice would be to read the book, then read each chapter again and implement teh guidance notes for a few days before moving on to the next chapter.

don't run before you can walk ifswim

I'm reading the book as quick as I can! Feeling like a crap parent at the moment. Lots of guilt from where I may have gone wrong and what I could have done differently. It would be really helpful if antenatal classes included parenting tips as well as how the baby is going to come into the world! Arrrgh!

don't feel guilty. your not a crap mum at all, crap mums dont attend parenting classes! only good mums who love their children and want to be a better parent do.

If i gave you a chunk of wood and a chisel could you turn it into a table? would you feel guilty if you couldnt?

no of course not, because your not ttrained in carpentry and no one would expect you to be good at something you have never been shown.

So many mums think that the "maternal instinct" will suddenly teach them what to do and when. it doesn't.

Never feel guilty about wanting to do better. and remember, you can't fail until you say you've finished.

I know a couple of child psychologists who rate it very highly indeed.
