I already have a 14 month old son and am expecting baby number 2 in 8 weeks time. what is the best way of coping with two young children with such a small age gap, as baby 1 is quite a "mummys boy"

My 2 DDs are 12 months apart, and I'm gonna tell you that its not easy. However now at 27mths and 15mths life is getting easier. The only advice I can give is try to put the baby into a routine as soon as possible. My dd 2 cried non stop for 1st 10 weeks which really knocked me for 6 (dd1 was an angel). A regret which I have so early on is not spending enough time with them seperately but I'm sure that'll come now they are a bit more independent. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job .

I have a 16 month gap between DD and DS2, I won't deny its hard especially getting out and about but I would say stick with your son's routine as much as possible, babies are very adaptable and will fit round what you already do, where as your son is going to find the change more difficult to come to terms with.

maybe try and get him use to someone diff now pre baby so if you do need a break upon babys arrival that some one i s familiarto him . my sis was great for the first 2 wk ends my ds arrived as my dd is my pet and was very sad.

echo the others stick to his routine.

now my ds 7mths just loves watching dd 2 all day and if shes not around he actually seems to miss her and her antics.
