and all your ideals about how you will be go out the window

and you say stuff you vowed you wouldn't

and all your liberalism disappears

and they answer you back- dont wash and dont tidy

they smirk when you bollock them

and life is one long restraint from telling them to ' f&*% off'

Oh yes.

I have 3 teens. Actually one of them is no longer a teen

Toddlers are hard physically I found. Teens emotionally and mentally. Life can be one long battle and I so empathise with the need to tell them to just bugger off!

But there are rewards.

i remember fondly those days of ds aged 2 and a half running around the supermarket, grabbing a chicken, grabbing tights, and generlaly embarrassing me and upsetting me cos i had his newborn sister in the pram and couldnt run after him, well i had to,
would he come shopping with me now? he would walk 5 paces in front, behind, and would nto dream of being seen in the supermarket

I have a 15 yr old son and 6yr old twin boys.None of the other Mums at the school gate have teenagers and think it must be a breeze. I just smile and think...you just wait!!They also assume he must be so helpful with the twins..yeah right, good at winding them more like!!I love meeting up with my friends who have teenagers as they know what its like!

i feel quite annoyed as since my baby was born i CONSTANTLY get told 'at least yo have the older onnes to help out'

Sleep? WTF is that? Two of mine are out tonight. One is driving - that's a worry in itself. The 17 year-old is at an 18th birthday party. I won't drop off properly til they're both home safe. ds2 especially as he was mugged a couple of months ago, by a gang with a knife.

Tomorrow I'm taxi service for the younger two and somehow have to be at both ends of the city at the same time!

Surprisingly I often ask my teen son his opinion on clothes I have bought as I know he knows whats "cool" and will give me an honest answer. My DH will just say "yeah that looks great" just cos he thinks its what I want to hear!

IKWYM...i can see the 'Your mum is cool/funny/crazy' comments drying up quickly in the near future (yes, me, ROTFLOL), and certainly no more 'ooh your house is nice' (i had recently hoovered. that's about it.)

well a friend also with a teen girl asked me recently if i evere considered there could be a competative edge to the teen girl /mother thing - which made me think.....

she is deffo jealous of my new boots!
