Second Teeth

Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not.

My DS 6 YO has only lost one baby tooth so far. When it came out his second tooth had already started to come through behind it.

We then noticed that behind the tooth next to this another second tooth had started to come through.

My dentist said it was nothing to worry about and that lots of children have this. He said they will even themselves up when his mouth grows.

That was a couple of months ago and his second tooth is now fully through behind his baby tooth which still isn't even wobbly yet.

Does anyone else have children with this? Is it common?

My ds had this at about the same age although the second milk tooth did fall out before the tooth behind was fully grown.

Both bottom teeth are fully grown and straight and have filled into the gum where they would be expected to be.

He's desperate for more teeth to come out now as he wants more money from the tooth fairy!

I was a bit concerned too wen I saw his second teeth behind both lower milk teeth.

Once the milk teeth came out, the new teeth moved seemingly overnight into place - at least within a few days.

Yes my DTDs both had/have this.

Apparently the final position of the teeth is determined by a balance of pressure from the lips on the front and the tongue on the back.

Once teh baby teeth do come out it will find it's rightful place within a month - most likely sooner.
