my lo is 3 at the end of this month-is he too young to start

football? the reason i ask is i saw some kids going to football this morning and they were sooo little however my lo is in to football so i thought about taking him for just informal kickabouts but within the group ifyswim.
what do you think is he too young?

I think he's maybe too young to uinderstand the concept of team sports at this age. We tried playina game of football on a picnic. the little ones would just pick the ball up and run away with it if it came near them....made for a fun and interesting game for us, but older more serious kids might take the hump.

There are organisations who do soccer classes for littlies though. Try googling it and see what's available in your area.

DS is on a waiting list to start - he's only 2.4. He's only on a waiting list because we want the saturday course - apparently they start from 18 months!

Ds goes to "sports star superstars", which is great all sorts of different sports each week including football he is 2.9, it teaches him so many skills on lots of different levels he loves it ! but don't know if that is just limited to our area, south manchester.
