Three month old losing interest in bottle feed - Help!

Our daughter fell into a great routine early on.... initially breast fed for six weeks then onto the bottle with no problem. Feeding hungrily at 7am, 11am, 2:30pm, 6pm, 10pm. She was taking 5oz at each feed at 9 weeks with no problem and we haven't had to increase these amounts.

However, she has started losing interest in each feed after 3oz, coming off of the teet, turning her head away, and spitting the formula out. She has also started waking earlier from her sleeps. We guess this is linked to her actually needing more feed, but she doesn't want it!!

Should we introduce solids to satisfy her hunger? (She has been drooling a lot for 3 weeks, takes interest in our food, holds herself well, and chews her hand with enthusiasm!) Or should we persevere with the bottle? If so, does anyone have any advice on how to get her to be more interested in the feed? By the way, she uses two hole teets. We did have her on three holes for a couple of weeks but she sucks very hard and took the feed too quickly; the result being she was often sick after feeding.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I don't think it would hurt to try her on rusks mixed with milk (not in the bottle), it may satisfy her a bit more

The fact she's changing her routine a bit isn't unusual for babies her age - she's learning there's more to life than a bottle, a sleep, a dry nappy and a cuddle.

Rusk won't satisfy her more than milk - it's more calorific than any solids you'd be able to give her now. And she's very unlikely to be sitting up unsupported and holding her head up well enough for solids.

She's probably waking earlier from sleeps because she's not needing quite as much as when she was newborn. HTH a bit.
