Is DD really saying Mama at 5 months?

DP swears she is, and it SOUNDS like she is, but its only when she's fretful ie overtired or upset. DP dropped me at an appointment and said that DD had very clearly said "Mama" wondering where I'd gone. She's super-alert and already trying to stand
Anyone else have experience of this?

Hello. My DS is 5 and a hlaf months old. He says "mamamamama"when he's tired and grumpy! My view is that he's learned to make that noise, which is a stage of development, but that he doesn't use it discriminately yet, its just that I am usually there when he's tired and grumpy, iykwim!

Strawberrycornetto I think that's pretty much what is going on with DD, so thanks for the insight.
She has so many different noises to express upset, from whinging (a funny purse-lipped thing she does which I think means she is very tired) to full blown red faced bellowing.

HBM, you're allowed to be a bit smug.
