Hi, dd has her first jabs tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it. I have just researched it online and found all sorts of horror stories - I know, I shouldnt have looked!

Has anyone had a bad experience with these? Is it normal for dc to be ill afterwards? I have calpol ready and waiting but wondered what everyone elses experiences are. Thanks.

We had no problems - yes, he screamed when the needle went in but was fine with a good cuddle. Calpoled him up but had no ill effects. The only thing I would say is to make sure you don't knock the puncture wound because it was very sensitive for DS - I had to feed him at a strange angle so that he wasn't lying on it.

Don't worry, DD is now five months and has had all hers. She was fine apart from being a bit grumpy for a day or so after the last set of jabs. I too was really worried, had the calpol at the ready and was also worried about how I would get the calpol into her as she is breastfed and refuses a bottle! Everyone I know has been fine apart from the odd temperature here and there and they have just used calpol and kept their babies cool and it seems to have passed.

You'll be fine (apart from the high pitch scream when your DD realises she has been pricked with a needle!)
